We are slaves of our temptations. We fall a prey to distractions that throw us over the edge; the edge of practicality that is a foremost obligation to fulfill an undertaking.
The need to take a sharp detour may feel at times alluring , and we miss the goal that we need to pursue. A silent craving at the back of our minds . an appetite to do what our heart desires.
Remember, the heart and the mind work consensually, but maybe not be with the same impulse.
It’s this impulse that matters. The rationale that we shouldn’t ever forego. We need to dig deeper into our souls and see what moves us over the edge of horizons ; is it the yearning to achieve or a tantalising piece of nuisance we need to give up.
Either way, life goes on. It’s the edge we need to take care of. The edge that could make or break us.
Moving over the edge

For the weekly writing challenge
(Women are often agnized as an inferior race and their ambitions and desires are suppressed in a male-dominated society.
We need to act now and shun this stereotyped thinking.
It’s now or never.)
Here’s what womanhood has to say.
Several hopes ruthlessly trampled,
Yet, I portray a self, so humbled.
A mask conceals my fragile face, beneath;
And I’m cocooned by my own immortal faith.
Trussed and rights withheld , I’m patronised;
Bitter thoughts seldom keep me agonized.
I’m left forlorn and feeling sorry,
While the frivolous men bask in glory;
I’m the woman – a woman who seeks freedom!
Potent enough to flourish anew, my very own kingdom;
Spiking determination courses through my body;
Dressed with unaging sagacity , so gaudy!
Zillions of infants ,I’ve nurtured and nourished;
Yet nobody has ever made me feel so cherished..
I’m destined to overpower the world;
Yes, I will…some day!
For I might seem vulnerable, but my immaculacy surpasses any divine fay!
